DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH FOUNDATION

The Diamonds In The Rough Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3), 509(a)(1) under the National Heritage Foundation (www.nhf.org). DITR Foundation was started in 2001 and is aimed at providing book scholarships to high school students attending a Historical Black College or University. The foundation recognizes that access to higher education for students who reflect our diverse society will create a network of our future leaders prepared to face the challenges of tomorrow.

Purpose
The Diamonds In The Rough scholarship program is aimed at providing book scholarships to students attending a Historical Black Colleges & University.

Scholarship Program & Requirements

For the book scholarship that we offer, general eligibility requirements are as follow:

1. Students must attend a Historical Black Colleges & University
2. Minimum 2.5 GPA
3. Must submit a transcript
4. Students must write a 1-page essay on why books are important in education.

Application Procedure

* Provide official high school transcript
* Must provide two character references
* Provide a written essay on why you should receive the DITR book scholarship. (minimum of 500 words)

Selection Process

Selected scholarships are awarded to those who demonstrate excellence in academics and show a dedication to education in the community.

You do not have to be an athlete to qualify for our scholarship. Application materials can be downloaded from the web soon.
